Develop further clinical practice recommendations and guidelines, implement and monitor their use , develop quality of care indicators and outcome measures in geriatric care, promote evidence based medical practice and evidence based policy

Further promote education in the field of ageing: basic principles of GM to all health care professionals at all levels. Specifically foster specialty training in geriatric medicine and diploma courses for other medical specialists. Support academic training centers and graduate studies in gerontology.

Join European gerontological network structures, promote and support contacts and co-operation with international organisations and other bodies. Particular importance should be given to contacts with Eastern European Countries.

Cooperate with research centers and grant agencies, promote research on ageing, dissemination of results and their implementation in clinical practice
